It's been said that clothes make the man. This especially true in movies. In the worlds created by movie magic, the outfits worn by the characters play an integral part in revealing aspects of their personality. They give us a glimpse into who these people are by providing a window into their stylistic choices. How a character dresses speaks volumes in regards to expression of their own particular style...

And sometimes they just make the actors look like complete tools.

We have here the biggest examples of clothes that you'd be scared to leave the house in, yet don't seem to phase these brave actors in the slightest. The hideous eyesores that some designer actually harbored hopes of winning an Oscar for.

The nominees for Biggest Fashion Nightmare in a Movie are:

• Jeff Goldblum's cowboy outfit - The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai (8.5%)
• Jay and Silent Bob as Bluntman and Chronic - Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (7.3%)
• Pretty much the entire product line of Zoolander (20.2%)
• Ian and Max - Weird Science (9.7%)
• The entirety of the '70s - Anchorman (10.1%)
• The Spartan Army - 300 (13.7%)
• Beetlegeuse's various suits - Beetlejuice (2.8%)
• Jane Fonda's furry skunk outfit - Barbarella (5.2%)

...and the winner is:

Queen Amidala!

Padme's outfits in combination with her clown makeup made us all very very glad we weren't Nabooan royalty, and I think that alone is worthy of a mutant award, but add to that that Natalie Portman also had to get around in outfits that weighed approximately the same as a Buick Lesabre... and that is AMA worthy too.
