Grabbing Lawrence's arm before he can do anything stupid, you drag him down the hallway. "Come on… I don't care if that's a real monster or just an 8 foot tall dude, we don't want to fight him!" Dodging crates and equipment, you focus the flashlight as best you can ahead of you, finally spying the delivery door. You almost slam into it, then fumble for the keys Bill gave to you. Finally locating the one he indicated, you jam it into the keyhole and hear the satisfying CLICK! But before you can push the door open, Lawrence grabs your wrist.

"What are you doing?! Do you not see that thing? Let go, we can get out of here and get help!"

Shaking his head, he replies, "Not yet. You won't understand, but we have to wait till that thing's closer to us to open the door."

"Are you nuts? We're not going to save everyone by letting it kill us!"

Lawrence gives you a small, sad smile. "It won't. I realize we just met, but you seem like a decent sort and… well, a man gets tired of living this way. If I can do something useful with the curse, so much the better."

You have no idea what he's talking about, but his grip is like iron - you can't shake free. Watching helplessly as the creature plows through boxes, getting closer and closer, you turn to plead with Lawrence again but halt at the look on his face. Leaning in, he whispers, "Do exactly as I say. As soon as the monster reaches us, open the door. Then - I don't care what's going on or what you think - shove us out. And if you value your life, don't open it again until everything is quiet."

There's no time to argue… the monster is upon you, and in disbelief you watch as Lawrence hurls himself at it. As they struggle you wrench the door open, sending a flood of moonlight into the narrow room. With horror you observe the immediate effect on Lawrence - caught though he is in the monster's grip, his clothes tear as his body broadens, patches of coarse hair sprouting all over his hands while his nails elongate and sharpen into vicious-looking claws. Though you can't see his face, you've no doubt what Lawrence is; and remembering what he said, you leap behind the two forms. The monster seems as startled as you were by his foe's transformation, but with a bellow renews his attack, while the werewolf growls and slashes at his arms. Knowing you couldn't survive against either for long, you back up as far as you can and charge at the pair, plowing directly into the back of the monster. Large though he is, his precarious stance and your forward momentum have the desired effect, sending he and the werewolf stumbling out into the alley behind the theater. Immediately you slam the door closed just as Lawrence warned you, twisting the key in the lock.

Collapsing to the floor, you listen intently to the sounds of fighting outside. They continue on for what seems like forever, snarls and guttural moans, until you hear one final, piercing howl and then nothing more. Finally, 15 minutes after the last noise, you dare to crack the door open and peer cautiously outside. And you find… nothing. No bodies, no blood, nothing to suggest a fight had ever taken place except some large, inexplicable dents in a nearby dumpster. As quickly as possible you travel to the nearest police station, apprise them of the situation, and watch as they break into the theater and free those trapped inside. No one ever does find out what caused the doors to lock by themselves, and when Bill asks what happened to Lawrence, you reply that he ran off once the delivery door was open — who would believe the truth? In time, life returns to normal, but every so often you think back on that night and wonder: did the creatures simply vanish upon getting far enough away from the theater that brought them to life? Or are they out there somewhere, awaiting their chance to inspire terror once more? You'll never know for certain… and somehow, you're not sure you really want to.
