If the slasher came off the screen in theater 3, fulfilling a portion of Bill's prophetic dream, then you want nothing to do with the knife-wielding maniac that would be prowling around theater 1.

Theater 2, on the other hand, was a story of murder among manipulative high school kids. The ultimate villain being revealed as the second-most popular girl in school; a cheerleader, volleyball player, and intelligent girl who could not stomach always coming up second to a bubbly blonde tart. Instead of axes or knives, she used sex, lies, and blackmail to manipulate others into killing off her rivals.

That sort of thing you can handle.

Sure enough, as you open the doors to theater 2 and rush inside, in the blue glow emanating from the lit screen you see the teenage temptress leaning casually against a chair, straightening up and smoothing out her skirt with her hands as she slowly moves towards you.

"What a weird place this is, right?" she purrs. "It sounds like Halloween came early this year out there."

You've read Shakespeare's Othello: you're aware of the idea that the best way to defend against a fork-tongued villain, be it Iago or this seemingly innocent girl, is forewarning and humor. Or, barring any other option, being deaf.

In this situation, especially since you know this little girl is anything but, there is one simple solution. One you always wished a character in her film would utilize.

You walk up to her, smile disarmingly, and slug her as hard as you can. You aren't much of a fighter but it works perfectly, as the evil girl crumples unconscious to the ground.

One of the most delightful sights you've ever seen in your life is located below and to the right of the big screen: a glowing green exit sign. You run towards it and push it open, blinking triumphantly in the sudden sunlight. You glance out into the alley behind the theater. Freedom!

A tortured scream reaches your ear from the lobby. Whatever else has been vomited out into reality from these supernatural movie screens, there remains at least a handful of living people fighting for their lives in this building. You're free, but they're still in danger.
