Dracula. Frankenstein. The Wolf Man. Damn your good taste in horror movies!

Okay, no problem… so you may have a vampire, a werewolf, and a patchwork abomination in the eyes of God and Man running loose in a locked theater. Things could be worse. Forcing yourself to breathe normally, you shoot a glance toward the crowd of patrons; from their position in the lobby, they appear not to have seen anything amiss. You turn back toward Bill.

"Either you gave me a bad case of crazy or this is some kind of trick, but either way, we need to get everyone out of the building," you hiss. "Think - what are the different ways out of here? This place has other exits, right?"

"Well… yeah. The emergency exits are the ones up here - which are locked - and in the theaters themselves, which obviously I'm not in a hurry to rush people back to. But there's an old delivery door in the back of the building, past the mechanical and storage rooms… we haven't used it in years, but it should still work. It's the only door in the building that locks from the INSIDE, so we can actually use my keys. Plus there's that big set of windows on the second floor, on your way up to the balcony… if we had to, we could try to pry one of those open so someone could climb down to the street."

Or break it, you think; Bill might not want his precious building to come to harm, but you're not sticking around a second longer than necessary in a place where you're either going nuts or there are actual monster roaming the halls. Before you can reflect further, a voice breaks into your thoughts.

"Terribly sorry to interrupt, but may I be of assistance?"

Jumping, you spin around to see a man has appeared behind you. Noting your surprise, he looks sheepish. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you… the name's Lawrence. I just noticed you gentlemen huddled over here, thought I'd see if I could lend a hand. I'm as eager to get out of here as anyone, believe me."

You size Lawrence up, frowning. He's of medium height and build, with long, dingy brown hair framing an unshaven face lined with wrinkles and an almost hangdog expression. You can't shake the feeling that you've seen him before… was he the guy who bumped into me while I was getting popcorn? Shaking your head, you force yourself to focus on the matter at hand.

"We were just talking about the best ways to get the doors unlocked. The, um, electrical system is fried, we can't get through the main doors… but don't tell anyone, we don't want to start a panic," you add, deciding Lawrence doesn't need to hear the whole story. "If you're willing to help out, we could use a hand. Bill, we'll try both the things you mentioned. You and Jake go to the back of the building and try to find the delivery door. I'll take Lawrence and head upstairs, see about getting one of the windows open."

Bill looks dubious. "I don't know… I really want to open those without breaking them, and I'm the best equipped to do that. You know the building pretty well from all the times I showed you around; why don't I give you my flashlight, and you and Lawrence try the delivery door while Jake and I tackle the window?" He glances at you for confirmation.

That seems reasonable… to take Bill's suggestion and head to the delivery door in back, click HERE.

Screw Bill… this whole thing is probably his fault somehow. Insist on opening the windows yourself. Click HERE.
