Reaching the door that leads into the back area, you turn to Lawrence. "Now, it's been a while since I was last back here… I remember the basic layout, but Bill might have shifted things around since then. Either way, there's lots of random equipment and junk lying around, so watch your step." "Right. Er… is this the only entrance to the back, or is there one in the theaters?" That stops you short. "Well… since you mention it, yeah, I think there's a way in here from one of the theaters. What makes you ask?" Lawrence shrugs. "No reason, I just wondered if any of the other moviegoers might have tried to find an exit on their own. Didn't want to get spooked by them." You wonder - was it your imagination, or did his eyes shift to the side when he said that? Sure glad I found a way to be alone with some guy I don't know in a dark room with no witnesses. But maybe you're just being paranoid… damn Bill and his stupid dreams! Shaking off the feeling, you hold the door open and motion Lawrence inside, then follow him in. Shining the flashlight around, you note that things look the same as they did the last time you were in here - filthy. An L-shaped room with high ceilings, it's been used as extra storage space for decades, leading to boxes upon boxes of old movie posters, projectors, and concession equipment stacked high against every wall. You start and almost yell as the flashlight beam plays over a cardboard cutout of Chewbacca, then idly wonder if it's from the original release of Star Wars. Making a mental note to ask Bill if you can look through this stuff later, you whisper to Lawrence: "Okay, the door we need is all the way down and to the right. Let's go." Shining the flashlight in front, you begin walking forward, gingerly picking your way through the random boxes and mouse traps scattered everywhere. To the left you see more cardboard cutouts from various movies, straight ahead what looks like a broken popcorn machine. Reaching the bend in the room, you proceed to the right with Lawrence still following. But you've only progressed a few steps when you hear a moaning noise from behind. Spinning around, you play your light back on the group of cutouts to find that… one of them is moving. Drawing back, you watch in horror as the Frankenstein monster shakes free of the cutouts and lurches its way toward you. It's just as you remember from the film: over 8 feet tall, with inhuman musculature and a grotesque, misshapen face. You recall finding its lumbering gait comical in the movies, but discover with chagrin that real life is a much different story. The creature that looked clumsy on screen is not slow so much as impossibly large, and you sense that one swat from its arm could shatter every bone in your body. You step back again as Lawrence tenses, looking like he's ready to spring. As the creature continues to draw closer, you have a decision to make.
